In recent weeks, our Secondary students have been participating in Student Vote Ontario. Student Vote Ontario allows students to cast ballots in a parallel vote—alongside the February 27 provincial election at their school. This hands-on learning program empowers students to experience the voting process firsthand and cast ballots for the official candidates running in the election.
In preparation for their vote, students have been learning about how government and elections work in Canada and Ontario as well as the differences between the different political parties and candidates.
We believe in the importance of teaching students to engage in meaningful discussions about government and democracy, developing critical thinking skills, and teaching the importance of civic engagement!
We encourage everyone to vote on February 27th!
